The Red Deer Public School District is one of about 40 school divisions in the province expressing interest at harnessing the power of the wind. Red Deer Public Schools associate superintendent Cody McClintock says the project would provide environmentally friendly power to schools and save them money. The Chinook's Edge School Division is also looking at joining, but says it will study the initiative more closely before making a final decision. If the project is approved, the wind farm could be fully operational by January 2014.
